BANGKOK, 6 September 2009 (NNT) – The Suan Dusit poll indicated that most people thought they were concerned over the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) rally.
The Suan Dusit Rajabhat University conducted an opinion survey on Thai politics. According to the survey, the majority of respondents or 21.86% thought that they were mostly concerned over the UDD rally while 13.41% expressed their concern over the message voiced through the media by former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra. 12.76% said the corruption in the “Sufficiency Community” project was their highest concern and 11.8% pointed their fingers to the constitution amendment.
Meanwhile, 7.42% of the survey respondents indicated that they were worried about the appointment of the new Police Chief and 7.10% saw the southern unrest as biggest cause of concern. In addition, 6.24% voiced their concern on the argument between the government and the opposition in the parliament and 5.9% were worried about the rift within the Democrat party. While 5.23 % were concerned over the progress of the investigation on the assassination attempt against Mr. Sondhi Limthongkul.
In terms of the solutions on the political impasse, 63.02% encouraged the government to continue working towards solving the country’s problems while 18.81% expressed that House Dissolution was a good way out.
