BANGKOK, 22 January 2010 (NNT) – The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to cooperate and exchange information to benefit both stock exchanges and other related parties in the stock market.
The information exchanged will be about operations, knowledge, and development of capital markets, how to promote and support business opportunities and investment through business networking. The MoU is also hoped to add value to the companies listed on the stock exchange.
SET President Patreeya Benjapolchai has expressed confidence that the cooperation will benefit each country, promoting business and investment opportunities which will bring the trading and investment relationships of Thailand and Vietnam closer.
Meanwhile Director of HNX Tran Van Dung said that the signing of the MoU sought to foster cooperation between the two stock exchanges and the countries. He further added that the MoU would provide a strong mechanism for the establishment of the ASEAN Economic Community.
The MoU is effective for five years, expiring in 2015.
