Bangkok, 17 February 2010 (NNT) – Bangkok will host the 45th Gem & Jewelry Fair to be opened on February 26 and lasting until March 2 at IMPACT, Muang Thong Thani.
This year’s concept is ‘The Power of Nature, The Power of Gems & Jewelry’. The 45th Bangkok Gem & Jewelry Fair which is jointly organized by the Thai Gem & Jewelry Traders Association and the Department of Export Promotion, is considered to be one of the top five gem and jewelry trade shows in the world.
Director General of the Department of Export Promotion, Ministry of Commere, Ms. Srirat Rastapana stated that gems and jewelry ranked among the top 10 largest industries in terms of export for Thailand. According to the Department of Export Promotion (DEP), Thai’s gems and jewelry exports are expected to grow by 14% in this current financial year. The export is expected to continue to perform favorably due to global economic recovery and international trade policies such as FTA and AFTA.
The Bangkok Fair features over 1,200 exhibitors in 16 key products categories and thousands of international jewelers from both Thailand and around the world. The Fair will be displaying diamonds, precious and semi precious gemstones, pearls, gold, silver, contemporary, traditional, and urban jewelry in all price ranges.
This event will hopefully enhance the country’s attempt to build its reputation as the World’s Gems & Jewelry Hub as well as to assume the premier place in the global industry.
